The sanitary aspects of producing food and beverage products are of extreme importance. Food producing plants must meet high hygienic standards to avoid a product's degradation and contamination during operation, and plant cleaning must be carried out quickly and thoroughly.

Cognis offers you a broad portfolio of Glucopon®, Dehypon® and Texapon® types that are mainly based on natural, renewable raw materials and meet the high requirements of CIP products:

Bottle management

We all know how important it is to drink around two liters of tea, water, juices or other beverages a day for a healthy living. But how can we assure that the bottles are safe to use again?

As bottle cleaning is about the cleaning of recycled and reused glass bottles or PET bottles within the food & beverage industry (especially breweries and dairies), the removing of soils as labels, glue, chain lubricants and beverage residues is one key term within the process. The requirements of surfactants for bottle cleaning are:

  • Low self-foam behavior and efficient defoaming capacity on high foaming soils over a broad range of temperatures
  • High cleaning and dispersing efficiency with sufficient acidic, alkaline and temperature stability
  • Low to no stress cracking behavior on plastic

Metal cleaning

Within industrial processes metal surfaces are often contaminated with oil, grease, fat, dust, pigments and corrosion protection products, which have to be removed by various kinds of cleaning technologies as spray or dip cleaning, ultrasonic, electrolyte or brush cleaning or even by a combination of the above mentioned methods while at the same time being sound to the environment due to the ingredients being mainly based on natural, renewable raw materials. These high demands require additives as Deriphat® 160C and Araphen® K100 with specific characteristics like high degreasing power, high wetting ability on steel and anticorrosion effect. But also low foaming behavior in combination with an outstanding cleaning performance achieved by various Dehypon® specialties are essential for these versatile applications.

The application diversity of car cleaning ranges from high pressure cleaning, pre-wash, main wash with brushes, hot-/ cold-wax, rinse and drying, underbody wash, corrosion protection and tire wash.
